For me to do the right thing and find a replacement instead of what most people would do, which is just leave, its kind of a slap in the face for them having a extra fee, one that most people, including myself, don't just have laying around. As stated before it was not on the lease. I'm already paying $2000 to live in a place that I'm renting, which is holding no value (my choice I totally understand that), but then for them to charge an extra fee for something so simple is crazy and honestly just a money hungry thing for a company to do. For the apartment to charge an extra $300 to do something so simple is outrageous. These extra charges and fee should be listed on the actual lease and not a random summary sheet that is given. However, I signed a lease and agreed to those charges listed, I did not sign a summary sheet. I talked with the manager of Folio apartments and she told me that its on a summary sheet of extra charges which was correct after she provided me the sheet. Even my last apartment the charged for extra fees not listed in the lease but they put it in the extra details spot on the actual lease so tenants can look back and see that they agreed to the charges being asked of them to pay. ![]() I've talked to several people I know that work in management for apartments and they have never heard of such a thing. I was looking to do the right thing and have another person take over my part of the lease, a easy take my name off, put the new person on. Folio apartments charges fees that are not on the lease that they have their renters sign. ![]()
